Outstanding departmental research recognised in REF 2014

The Department of Biochemistry has contributed to the largest volume of world-leading and internationally excellent research in the REF 2014 exercise, as announced today in the REF 2014 results.

Within the Biological Sciences ‘Unit of Assessment’, the University of Oxford’s contributing departments, which include Biochemistry, have topped the country’s institutions in both quantity and quality. Furthermore, the University overall has the largest volume of world-leading research and impact submitted to the REF exercise.

The results confirm the University’s outstanding position in medical sciences research and across all of its academic divisions.
