ABC Radio National highlights department's antiviral work

'The Science Show' on Australian Broadcasting Corporation's Radio National recently featured an interview with Raymond Dwek at the Glycobiology Institute.

‘Developing the antiviral pill’ highlights work at the Institute to develop a pill as a therapy against the hepatitis viruses. The approach, which is based on targeting the sugars that form part of the protein coating surrounding the virus, is unaffected by virus mutation. If successful, it could be used against a wide range of viruses.

Professor Dwek’s long-standing championing of Israeli technology and its application to the country’s natural resources was featured on the same programme in November.
