College Admission

You must specify a college on your application form, or indicate that you have no college preference. We strongly advise you consider colleges that advertise Graduate scholarships, unless you are only interested for a studentship that is fully funded from a single source. Colleges take interest in the academic progress of students and provide academic support through advisors, seminar programmes, teaching career development opportunities and scholarships. They play an important role in student pastoral care, welfare, and provide an additional academic community for students to develop friendships and enjoy broader intellectual and leisure activities. Colleges may provide accommodation, usually for at least part of the duration of the study, free sports facilities, clubs/societies, and meals at low cost.

Your application will be considered by your first choice college after you receive an offer of a place on a research programme. If your first choice college cannot offer you a place, the department will ensure that you receive an offer from another college. You are not required to make a separate application to a college. The following colleges will consider candidates accepted to read for a research degree in Biochemistry.
