Finance Officer
We are seeking to appoint a Finance Officer to provide financial management across the full range of operations in the Department of Biochemistry. This will include providing specialist advice and guidance on research grants and other financial matters, evaluating and improving local procedures, and building strong relationships with senior colleagues, as well as undertaking technical financial transactions. A breadth and depth of knowledge of financial procedures, and sound judgement will be required.
Applicants should possess the knowledge, intellectual capacity, reasoning and analytical skills of a graduate or equivalent, and should have significant relevant experience in a similar financial role in an organisation with income of over £25M p.a. Experience of preparing financial reports, implementing financial controls, and audit procedures are also required, along with advanced numerical, IT, and communication skills. You will also be comfortable working independently, demonstrating advanced organisational skills together with the ability to prioritise and delegate appropriately in order to meet a variety of deadlines.
This full-time permanent post is funded by the department, and is based at the Department of Biochemistry, South Parks Road, Oxford.
This position is graded on the University's Grade 7 pay scale, for which the salary range is £31,604 - £38,833 per annum. The actual starting salary offered will be based on qualifications and relevant skills acquired.
