Catch Biochemistry researchers down the pub!

Pint of Science

Come and hear Alison Woollard and DPhil student Karolina Chocian speaking at one of the 'Pint of Science' events in Oxford on 18 May.

Alison and Karolina will be talking about 'Worm tales and why they matter to us' at the Wig and Pen on George Street in Oxford, 7.30-9.30pm. In the informal setting of a pub and with beer behind the bar, they will be exploring what the humble nematode worm can tell us about our bodies.

The Pint of Science festival aims to deliver interesting, fun and topical talks on the latest scientific research in an accessible format. Hosted by pubs across the world, it provides a platform for the public to discuss research with the people who carry it out.

As part of the Oxford festival, Biochemistry postdoc Jo Miller has organised two further talks at the Wig and Pen: 'Stem Cells - hope or hype in medical research' (19 May) and 'Ebola - fighting the outbreak' (20 May).

The full programme can be found on the website along with ticket booking details.
