Medical Sciences Division, 2015 Teaching Awards

A number of Biochemistry lecturers have been recognised in the recent Medical Sciences Division Teaching Awards. The scheme acknowledges excellence in teaching, the organisation and development of teaching, and support for teaching and learning, within a research-intensive environment.

Associate Professor David Harris received a joint award in the "Project" category for developing a free national online database of multiple choice questions for exam revision, in collaboration with the University of Cardiff.

Professor Ben Berks, a Fellow of Wadham College, received an "Excellent Teacher" award for consistently high quality teaching and outstanding support to undergraduates and DPhil students.

Associate Professor Lynne Cox, a Fellow of Oriel College, received a "Commendation" for her inspiring and stimulating lectures as well as broad reaching public engagement activities in local schools, science festivals and media broadcasts.

Sarah Jenkinson, Peter Judge and Joanna Miller each received "Commendations" for teaching a broad range of topics from bespoke organic chemistry lectures to advanced thermodynamics and virology.
