This follows a number of recent awards and honours. In April, Dame Louise delivered the Dorothy Hodgkin Prize lecture at the British Crystallographic Association meeting and the Fred Richards Memorial Lecture at Yale University. She was awarded an Honorary DSc degree from Imperial College London in November 2009 and shortly before this, was made an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC).

The Honorary Fellowship was conferred at the 42nd International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) meeting in Glasgow last August, where Dame Louise also gave a plenary lecture on 'Structural Approaches to Biology and New Methodologies'.
