How to Apply Section

To be considered for a Department of Biochemistry Studentship you must apply by the deadline in early January. For admission in October 2018 this deadline is 12 noon (GMT) 8th January 2018.

If you have your own source of external funding, you can apply after the early January deadline. However, before submitting an application after the January deadline, we advise that you contact us to confirm that there are still places available on the course.

Occasionally we will advertise Studentships that are associated with a specific Group Leader and research project. Details and application deadlines for currently available Studentships can be found at this link.

Before applying, you should explore opportunities for research in this Department by looking at our list of  Group Leaders  and Research Areas. We also encourage you to approach any of our Group Leaders directly by email to ask if they are able to supervise you. This can be done at any time. However, it is advisable to start making enquiries several months before you plan to submit your application.

If you are unsure which Group Leader matches your interest, please contact us and we will advise you further.

Once you have selected one or more prospective supervisors, and confirmed that they are in a position to consider an application from you, you should apply ONLINE.
