Facilities for Speakers/Lecturers

Departmental IT Facilities in support of Presentations include:

  • LCD projector in the Main Meeting Room
  • Wireless microphone in the Main Meeting Room (on request)
  • 2 portable LCD projectors for use in other meeting rooms
  • Windows 7 laptop, this can be set up in any location within Biochemistry
  • Apple iBook, this can be set up in any location within Biochemistry

Please give  IT Support 24 hours notice of any booking requirement (contact details below), and bear in mind that the equipment is booked on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you are bringing a laptop to the Department please ensure that any power supply has the correct UK power plug fitted. On safety grounds plug adaptors are not permitted.

Presentations

If you intend to bring a presentation on a storage medium then CDs, or USB flash memory sticks can be used.

Please note that from our experience PowerPoint presentations created on Macs may have problems running on PCs, particularly if movies and animation are included.

If you are having equipment set up especially for your talk, it is advisable to arrive early for your lecture.
