Awards for the Cox lab at UK ageing conference

Two members of Professor Lynne Cox's lab were awarded top prizes at the 68th annual scientific meeting of the British Society for Research on Ageing (BSRA) last week. The BSRA is the world's oldest scientific society devoted to research into the biology of ageing. This year's conference was held at Oriel College, Oxford and judging was conducted by an independent panel of experts drawn from the Trustees of the BSRA.

Dr Adam Rolt, who has just been awarded a competitive three year research fellowship to continue working in the lab, was awarded first place for his poster on developing novel assays to measure inflammatory signalling.

Hannah Walters, who is about to start the final year of her DPhil, was awarded the prestigious Korenchevsky award for best oral presentation by an early career researcher. The award provides an all-expenses trip for Hannah to attend the next American Aging Association conference in San Francisco, to represent the BSRA and present her work.
