Centenary Cycling - More than 100!

Centenary Cycling - More than 100!

On Wednesday 22 February, a team of hearty cyclists pedalled from the Department of Biochemistry in Oxford all the way to Nottingham – a distance of 103 miles!

Through the day, a team of academics, students and support staff from the Department were joined by well-wishers from the Science Area and together they kept the wheels spinning. There were some great over-the-handlebar moments despite the huffing and puffing including a good deal of good-hearted rivalry!  As part of both the Wellbeing Week and the Centenary celebrations, the ride drew enthusiasts who all enjoyed the opportunity to meet-up and discuss favourite cycle routes, pot-holes, the pros and cons of disc brakes and of course their research. Thanks very much to everyone who took part – both in organising the event and getting on the bike.
