Department of Biochemistry Postgraduate Poster Symposium

Our postgraduate students make a huge contribution to the research activities of the Department. This was showcased at our annual Graduate Poster Symposium on 23 June, where around 23 third- and fourth-year students presented their research to members of the Department. The posters illustrated the breadth of research carried out and prompted much lively discussion during the course of the afternoon.

In his closing remarks, Professor Francis Barr, Head of Department, congratulated the students on the high standard of their posters. Best poster prizes were awarded to Bertie Ansell and Larissa Dietz, and the "people's choice" prize went to Frances Spragge. Thanks go to NEW ENGLAND BioLabs and Merck for their generous support of this event, to Paul Elliott, Sebastian Fica, Jo Parker and Mary Thompson for judging the posters, and especially to Tatyana Nesterova and Dawn Gibbons for organising the event.
