Neutralization of SARS-CoV-2 and zoonotic coronavirus threats by mosaic nanoparticle vaccination
Apart from SARS-CoV-2, other coronaviruses such as SARS and MERS have been able to cross the species barrier and cause human infection. Hung-Jen Wu in the Howarth lab collaborated on rapid vaccine assembly with Pamela Bjorkman's lab at Caltech. The work, just published, showed that co-display of Receptor-binding domains from different viruses on one virus-like particle induced strong neutralizing antibodies against a broad range of coronaviruses.
