Professor Anthony Watts
Professor Anthony Watts has been awarded the IUPAB-Avanti prize for his pioneering contributions to biophysics and especially the development of solid state NMR for membrane biology. His particular interests lie in understanding how receptors, including the important family of G-protein coupled receptors that are major drug targets, require lipids for functionality. In recent years, Tony’s research has developed nanoparticle technology for structural biology and to deliver drugs in a clinical setting.
