The Divisional Peer Mentoring Scheme is open to both Research and Professional, Technical, and Support staff. The scheme is based on a format of peer mentoring circle, comprising of 3–4 mentees and one more senior mentor. The mentoring circles should run initially for a 12 month period, and applications open in Trinity Term.

The Departmental Postdoc Mentoring Scheme uses mentoring circles to allow peer-to-peer mentoring, alongside the traditional mentor to mentee relationship. Please contact HR, if you wish to join this scheme.

There is also a buddy system within the postdoc network, so  any new postdocs wishing to seek a buddy can e-mail postdoccommittee@bioch.ox.ac.uk

The Oxford Senior Women's Mentoring Network (Oxford Single Sign-on required) is intended to encourage women to explore their leadership potential within academic life, or within an administrative career.

Pivot Mentoring offers two mentoring schemes for black and minority ethnic staff. For BME staff at any grade, Pathway A uses mentoring circles where you can network with others across the University, discuss your individual circumstances and actions in a holistic way, and work on your personal and/or professional development. For BME staff at grad 6 and above, Pathway B focuses on career progression by providing access to senior staff in a one-to-one relationship, and by providing space to consider targeted career development.

The OxWEST Mentoring scheme offers mentors from both academia and industry, and can be conducted via email contact, face-to-face meetings, telephone calls or video calls.

The Career Support Network is for administrative or support staff up to grade 8 in the University. By providing access to a number of managers and experienced recruiters, participants can receive confidential, impartial advice about an internal job application, a job interview, or with rewriting their CV.

The Oxford University Coaching Network is made up of University staff who hold coaching qualifications or training, who offer their time on a voluntary basis within their working hours to coach colleagues working in other parts of the University.

Buddy System: An informal “buddy” system has been set up to help newly starting PSS settle into the department and their new surroundings, so please e-mail HR if you would like to be put in touch with a member of the PSS who could be your “buddy”.

There is also a buddy system within the postdoc network, so any new postdocs wishing to seek a buddy can e-mail postdoccommittee@bioch.ox.ac.uk
